Thank you to the people who sent in testimonials in order to save the pools in Toronto! Parents have done deputations to the Board! Parents have emailed the Ministry! Now it’s time to lobby City Hall. (We expect another chance to talk to the Board on April 22.)
Ward 7 (where Swansea is located) has 6 pools slated to close in June 2009 if there is no long term sustainable funding secured, Fern, Keele, Humberside, Parkdale, Ursula Franklin, and Western Tech.
Two more pools are at risk in 2010/2011 when the agreement between the TDSB and the City expires, Runnymede CI, and Swansea.

David Crombie, Chair -Toronto Lands Corporation, and Chair of the Aquatics Working Group (AWG), released his final report entitled, “LONG-TERM STRATEGY FOR 39 POOLS IN THE TORONTO DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD“.
