Once again this year we are forming a “man choir” to prepare a performance for Swansea’s Nuit Blanche performance on February 20. We are hoping that as many boys as possible from grades 4 to 8 will join the Swansea Man Choir and take advantage of this unique opportunity to sing with an all-male chorus.
We are encouraging Swansea alumni, teachers, parents and friends to join as well. You do not have to be an experienced singer or have the ability to read music to join us – all you need is an enjoyment of singing. Community members are asked to attend three short rehearsals. Your support and participation provide important role models for our young singers.
The staff facilitators are Andrew Corbin and Catherine West. Our proposed repertoire comes from the world of working men, including Rita MacNeil’s “Working Man”, Stan Rogers’ “Northwest Passage” and others to be determined.
Students in Grades 7 and 8 will get “S” points for participation, and have the opportunity to attend the TDSB Music By the Lake camp if they wish to.
