Lateness/Absence

Please arrive on time. Arriving promptly ensures your child gets the best start for the school day.

For school safety, the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) has mandated a SAFE ARRIVAL PROGRAM for all its schools. To inform the office if your child will be absent or late:
CALL the school at (416) 393-9082, SELECT OPTION 1

This number is available 24 hours a day. Unexplained absences will result in a phone call home. Safe arrival e-mail notification send to the attention of Mary.Gianari@tdsb.on.ca and Mary.White@tdsb.on.ca

Arrival/dismissal

· Please ensure that your children arrive on time. Late arrivals interrupt or are disruptive to the learning of others.
· Students must line up at designated doors to enter the school in a quiet, orderly fashion.
· Teachers accompany students from the schoolyard to their classes.
· Unless volunteering, parents are asked to remain in the schoolyard.
· Parents and children are not to use the Community Centre doors to enter and exit the school.

Emergency contact information

Ensure that the School office has up-to-date Emergency Contact information: provide contacts who can be called in an emergency or by Safe Arrival, and inform them about their potential involvement with the school. Please give an extension or department number for workplace numbers. Please inform the school of any changes to your emergency contact information.

In cases where the parents/guardians of a Swansea student live in different households, we direct our communications to the “custodial parent/guardian.” If other arrangements are required, please see the school office.

Leaving the school

Students who leave the school before dismissal must sign out in the office. Students are expected to bring a note signed by their parent to the homeroom teacher at the beginning of the school day.

Sign out at the office just before leaving for the appointment. If a parent is to meet a student at school, please arrange to meet in the office. No student is permitted to leave the school unless he or she notifies the office first and has written parent permission or notification.
