Listserve — Week of Sept 6, 2011

Welcome Back Party

Our Welcome Back Party is scheduled for Wednesday, September 14th from 5 – 7 pm.  So mark your calendars for this fun event.

Education Day

The Ontario Public School Board’s Association has declared September 20th as Education Day.  In support the Toronto School Board Trustees are organizing all-candidate meetings across the city.

Parkdale-High Park Riding will be hosting a public meeting at Bishop Marrocco/Thomas Merton Secondary School on Tuesday, September 20 from 7:00 – 9:00 pm.

This will be an opportunity to hear directly from the local candidates of the major provincial candidates on education issues.

School Council Meeting

Wednesday, September 21st   (6:45 pm) – we are looking for parents who wish to serve on this year’s council.

The 2010 – 2011 school year officially started on Tuesday.  Thank you to all the parents for their patience while we sorted everyone out and got students settled in the classrooms.  Parents are reminded to drop their child(ren) off in the playground with their teacher and not escort them into the school.  This keeps our hallways clear and safe for all of our students.

Your child would have brought home a package with important school information and forms.  Please ensure the forms are completed, signed and returned as soon as possible.

East Africa Relief – Call to Action

On Tuesday, September 13 we will observe one minute of silence to remember those who have lost their lives or continue to struggle to survive during this terrible tragedy.
