Ward 7 update
Trustee Irene Atkinson has invited the Minister of Education Laurel Broten to a meeting (date to be determined) with Ward 7 Council where parents will be invited to attend and ask questions and discuss concerns we have with public education in this province. Specifically, how the projected 108 million dollar cuts to the TDSB will affect our children.
Trustee Atkinson is asking concerned parents to send Minister Broten a letter encouraging her to set a date to meet with the Ward 7 Council. Your support is appreciated. Go to the School Council’s blog site for a template of the letter.
The minutes of the last education committee meeting are now posted online. Topics include: advocating for school resources, Parents Reaching Out grant, School Improvement Plan
June Bulletin online (parent newsletter)
The last Bulletin of the year is now online. See photos of music concerts, sports updates, track and field, spirit days, dragon boat races, art club, SwansWe, Earth Day, alumni news, grade 8 grad. Check out the back page for a fantastic photo of the whole school decked out in rainbow colours. Also a page of appreciation to all our parent volunteers.
Special thanks in creating the Bulletin to parent volunteers Sharon Mittmann (editor), Janna Rosenstein (article submissions coordinator) and Virginia Wheeler (mom who always has her camera) for all their hard work this year.
