FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK
Happy New Year. Hopefully everyone had a relaxing holiday and is ready to back into an exciting and demanding school term.
Term One ends in February so students will be writing tests, finishing assignments, making presentations, etc. to complete the term one curriculum expectations. Grade 8 students are making their decisions about high school, as optional attendance forms are due February 1, 2011.
There is also basketball, volleyball, and swim teams practicing for upcoming tournaments, in addition to the numerous clubs going on at lunch and after school – chess, media, photo, dance. Lots to look forward to in the upcoming months. Below is a list of upcoming events for January and February.
January 5 – grade 8 visit to Humberside, parent information meeting @ 7:00 pm
January 17 – grade 7 perform at Roy Thompson Hall for Martin Luther King Day
January 19 – School Council meeting at 6:45 pm
January 20 – Late Entry (grade 7) Extended French presentation – 7:00 pm
January 21 – PA Day (school closed)
January 25 – Cardboard Boat Races
February 3 – District Review
February 7, 8, 9 – Kindergarten registration
February 14 – Term One Report Cards sent home
February 15 – Scrabble Tournament
February 16 – School Council meeting – 6:45 pm
February 17/18 – parent teacher conference
February 21 – Family Day (school closed)
February 24 – Family Math Night
