From the Principal’s Desk – Dec 2, 2012
Thank you again for all of the love and support you have shown the staff over the past week. The Swansea community has come together in a spirit of caring and compassion and now it is our job to continue to work together to carry on the legacy that Mr. Samson has left us.
It was not possible to film the memorial service on Friday, but we are building a page on our website, dedicated to Mr. Samson where there will be pictures, film clips and messages of remembrance.
For families still wishing to recognize Mr. Samson’s contribution to Swansea Public School there are several ways you can continue to do so:
- The Remembrance Book will stay in the office for this week and then we will be sharing it with Mr. Samson’s family
- Contribute a book to Swansea Public Library – books for age 7 – 10 boys (have lots of Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Big Nate) – adventure books – Children of the Lamp, Emerald Atlas or your own favourite adventure book
- Donate to the Samson Family Trust Fund – Bank of Montreal (Windermere and Bloor)Transit # 0367, Account # 8980907, or cheques can be dropped at the school – made payable – “SSC – Tom Samson Memorial Fund
Class 2B- Room 111
Mr. Chauhan has offered to take over Mr. Samson’s class of 2B. As our primary physical education teacher he knows all of the students and this will provide some consistency for the students. Mr. Olson will remain in the class until Mr. Chauhan joins the class on Tuesday, December 4th.
Mr. Olson did an amazing job covering this past week so we are grateful to him for all he did for us and the students.
This week we will be interviewing for the Primary Phys. Ed. position.
Our first Pizza Day will be on Tuesday, December 4, 2012. Students will be given their pizza tickets on Tuesday morning.
Grade 8 Graduation Committee
