Chapter’s Night

Another great fundraiser for Swansea PS.  Thank you to Claudia Winkelmann for organizing such a fun event.  Thanks also to Mrs. West for organizing the Talent Show, all the performers and all the volunteers who helped during the evening.  We raised $758.20.  This money will be used to purchase more books for classroom libraries.

Musical Memory Boards

The musical plaques that are in the hallway, outside the gym, have been repaired and now covered in plexiglass.  Thank you to Linda Yuen, a former parent, for doing this for us and to Shahid Shaikh for helping to install the plexiglass.  It is always nice to be able to see pictures of all the great things our students have accomplished over the years.

Holiday Fund

The holiday season is approaching and we know that this can be a very difficult time in the lives of many of our families.  Many years ago we established a Holiday Fund so that parents who need financial assistance during this time will be able to access funds.  This year is no exception.  Our Holiday Fund will be able to offer gift certificates to families in need so that they can provide something special for their children who attend Swansea Public School.

If you would like to participate in this program, or know of someone who could use some support over the holidays, please call the school at416-393-9082 Extension 20005, and leave a message for Mary White.   All inquiries will be treated with confidentiality.

Tree of Giving

The holiday season is a time when we celebrate our culture and traditions, many of which include supporting our neighbours who are less fortunate.Swansea School has chosen to support our community through a Christmas Tree of Giving.  This will be outside the office and people may make donations if they wish. The charities we are supporting this year are: Free the Children, and LAMP Toy Drive

Thank you for your support of our community and we wish you all the best in this holiday season.
