ALOHA! The Hawaiian Dance-a-thon Friday, March 9th was a wonderful success. Thank you to all the students, parents and guardians for your generosity! We made over $5,000 for Swansea School!
All the students had a great time at the Hawaiian Luau. The kids dressed up in a variety of Hawaiian garb – grass skirts, Hawaiian lei’s, flip flops, hats, sunglasses, etc. They danced and did the limbo, conga line, the chicken dance, and all sorts of other fun dances. A great time was had by all.
Thank you to our decorating team – they helped create a beach scene with palm trees, water and swimming clown fishes, dancing Luau girls, a Tiki Hut, and many 6 foot palm trees. Thank you to Mrs. Chatterjee’s class for the surf boards, Mr. Samson’s class for the Hawaiian flowers, Ms. MacGregor’s class for the palm trees, and Mr. Olson and Ms. Romano for the Hawaiian inspired drawings! Great job to Mrs. Wick’s class for making their own grass skirts and Hawaiian lei’s!
1. Class that raised the most money – Mrs. Wright’s class
2. Class that had the most participation – Mrs. Wick’s class
